Home \\ How It Works \\ The Transmitter

One of the important components of the TPM System is the tire transmitter.  Each tire has a transmitter.  This device transmits the data to the receiver and informs the driver of each tires pressure and temperature. The pressure and temperature information, the antenna’s transmitting distance, frequency, battery life, and the weight of transmitter become the most important functions for these sensors.

Live Tire contains a battery for power. The main transmitter components of an active battery operated tire pressure monitoring system are the battery, processor, memory, sensors, radio component and antenna. These components are integrated onto a single chip (ASIC) to save weight, space and to reduce power consumption.  Live Tire also uses a simple acceleration sensor or switch that helps determine whether the tire is rotating or not.
